4/3/2023 0 Comments Gnuplot demo![]() ![]() It seems that I need to put a relay between ESP32 and the existing relay (I am guessing because the IOs output form ESP32 is too "weak" at 2.2 to 3.6V) if so, which specs should I look for in this relay? It is my understanding that ESP32 can only operate with voltage of 2.2 to 3.6V hence every time I am connecting a pin, I need to be sure that the voltage is in that rage -> how do I do that? what do I put between a 12-16V voltage (from the battery) and the ESP32? ![]() The problem is that I am an absolutely newbie in the electrics/electronics, hence, even if I might have drafted a good starting point, I am not too sure where to go from here. Thank you so much for you suggestions! they are so precious to me!!! It may be easier for troubleshooting to have the dashboard ESP connect to the engine bay one, rather than the other way round. You can probably find a relay board that has a regulator for this built-in. The latter is probably preferable for current handling.Īlong a similar line, the ESP is unlikely to be able to handle the 12-16v from the car directly. You can either use that relay to power the light bar directly, or use it to control the existing relay. A few things to note the ESP by itself won't be able to drive a relay, but you can get off-the-shelf daughter boards that have the relay and a Darlington pair (the easiest way to make it work) already. For a rough outline, it looks like you've made good progress so far. ![]()
